Ovary and Fimbriae

Collection 000023: The fimbriae of a rabbit (particularly pretty ones) with the ovum drifting towards the folds. These guard the entrance to the Fallopian tubes where fertilisation takes place. The final shot shows a rupture of an ovarian follicle to release a cloud of cells along with a fresh ovum.
